The scene an hour's drive west of Port-au-Prince is apocalyptic. Almost every single building on the road I'm driving on now has been flattened.

Ah no I'm delighted, it's very close to my best day ever at 25nl, if not the best. AND seeing as I played my 10 BI session last night after 12 o clock you might even say that it is a +21 BI day. Shiiipp. $525. Happy out. This all probably makes for boring reading, so I'm sorry for that. Don't worry though, a losing session is on the cards, fo sho. Everything is going so well something bad is bound to happen. I've got a great positive attitude as you can see.

I love the weekends on stars, I'd love to know my winrate on just Fri, Sat and Sun nights. Cant be arsed to load a filter, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 7 or 8 ptBB/100. So many people calling down to the river full sure of the fact you are holding AK. It has been pretty damn swingy since my weekend off, but profit is profit.

I'm right on track for 10k vpp's, playing quite a lot. Can't wait for the first of June when I can give this boring shit up, for two months at least. I'm taking a month off lazing around my hometown, and then a month of traveling all around Europe. For now its back to the grindstone til the end of this month to make some $$$ and keep that Nova.

So I took a holiday to London, had a great time, and am now back reinvented, refreshed, and ready. I have had two good sessions since returning, which is a sign that I'm playing well. Today I was stuck $150 (six buyins) at one stage, but kept a cool head to finish up $3, which I'm delighted with. I was pissed off at one stage but I don't think I let my play suffer. Sessions where you lose a lot to recoup at the end are so much better than being up like 6 buyins to finish even.

Full steam ahead now to maintain Nova for this month! Here are some hands from today.

But ‘that guy’ who usually ends up in your games seems to be dealing a
little strangely today. Before you’ve finished blinking your eyes,
that very same guy has begun to deal the cards on the table one by
one, but yours lands face up! The whole hand has to be dealt once
again. You seem to be playing at reasonably high stakes and so this
shouldn’t really be happening any more…
Well it happened to me last night. At my own home game which made it
rather frustrating too. Like my friends, I am certain that every mid
to high stakes gambler wants the security that a professional casino
dealer provides. When the stakes are high you can’t afford to make any
errors. Getting a professional is the only way to ensure that all the
rules are complied with and you get the added bonus of experiencing a
far more convincing playing field that resembles a professional casino.
I’ve always hired professional poker dealers/croupiers to deal at our home games and
dinner parties. When we invite guests over, the dealer gives us a
quick demonstration of his card handling skills, accompanied by a few
shuffling tricks. Once the formalities are over, we get down to the
actual game. Its usually Black Jack followed by Poker. Both test his
dealing skills to the limit well until the early hours every week.
Since I am no longer a casino man - naturally my wife takes care of
that, I am able to do this by visiting a site I found called Dial A
Dealer. Its a rather clever directory of dealers and high quality casino hire events companies from around the
world. Dealers can sign up to the site and enter all of their
accolades as well as photographs and highlight which games they excel

I have played just one session since the last blog post. 1800 hands, minus 2 BI's. I really think I've burned out properly this time. I can't stand to think of playing poker through the summer. I have around $5k, which I'm hoping will get me through til August/September.

I'll keep playing for the next few weeks hopefully, and then stop for good until August sometime. Actually I just decided I'm going to try and move up to 50nl. Should be a bit more fun than the usual 25nl donks. Anyway I'm off to watch Man United crush Wigan.

I can't seem to stop myself from tilting these days. It's not ubermega "I'm gonna hit 5/10 heads up," tilt, just that I'm playing my B-game constantly. Scratch that, it's more like my F-game:

The villain was running 16/12, and of course my tilted brain interprets this to mean that villain is DEFINITELY bluffing. Snap call that river, why not? I have the nuts.

Through analyzing my PT3 stats I've noticed I have had five losing sessions at 25nl in a row. God damn awful, whichever way you look at it. I don't know what to do to stop spewing. Not getting outdrawn at the start of sessions would help, but one or two bad outdraws never used to tilt me. Whats changed? I have been getting coolered and outdrawn a lot more but its no excuse, I used to be so confident at 25nl. I know I can still kill it, but before I was just more confident. I'm gonna play a lot less over the next week or two, and then increase the hours a lot to keep supernova at the end of May.

So yeah I'm a lazy fuck, 140k hands in May aint gonna happen. I have played 3k hands so far, (what a hardcore grinder) for a profit of -$17.80.

I have decided that I'm probably gonna work through the summer, minus the time I'll be off traveling. This means for May I'll just maintain Nova and enjoy the month. I'm bringing my girlfriend to London next weekend for our four year anniversary, which should be a good laff.

Today was a pretty awful day, - 7 buyins. Played brilliantly terrible. When I get bad luck and lose a few buyins I don't really mind, but when I play like I did today and also get coolered and outdrawn it really annoys me. Arghhh. Yes two posts in a day, Christmas has come.

Just wanted to give an update after my earlier tilt spree. I took a while off, had a shower, and downloaded and started listening to Joanna Newsom. What music... never have I felt more relaxed than when I took to the tables again.

Only played for half an hour but I played well and managed to get myself back up for the day. Here is the graph of today, I have the place in time circled where I gave up earlier.

Sorry for the lack of updates, there hasn't been anything new or strange going on really. I am playing a lot more, on account of trying to get the 10k vpp's in before May, and have been running ok. I got my 3rd (might be 4th) ever royal flush today, and managed to run it into a full house was a pretty nice way to start off my sesh this morn.

I have to play around 4 hours a day for the rest of the month the get the 10k vpp's. I'm planning on maintaining these hours through the month of May, to leave myself with enough money so as to not have to grind AT ALL through the summer. Should be a good summer if I can put the hours in, I think 3.5ke shouold be enough, so roughly 4.5k USD. I have around 4k USD at the moment so I need to make enough to live off for May and make 1k more so I have enough to continue the grind after summer when I start college. Today was the first time I've played since my last post, so had a nice long break. Got back into the swing of things today, booking a win of $208.65 in around 4 hours. I'll be playing a lot more for the rest of the month, to keep my supernova status.

The "scammer" who took my $500 has payed back the first installment of $100, which I'm delighted about. It means I don't have to hunt him down and break his lags.

Poker has been going ok, not great. I had a nasty sesh yesterday where, in 600 hands, I had two set under set's, kk vs. aa aipf, and a hand where I had qq on a q66 board drawing practically dead. I made over 2k in March, at $33 an hour, and for April so far I have made 420, at $30 an hour, so it's not bad really.

I played the $16.50 heads up SCOOP, and I think I won six in a row to take home $92, in the last 256. I made a pretty bad call in the final heads up, where I thought I had a read. Douglas played it too, and I offered to trade 5% of the action. He declined, his reasoning being he thinks he's better at me heads up. Justice I say.

Going to start up a sesh now, and then start the 5th series of house.

What an unreal day. Firstly and MOST importantly, UNITED WON! What a match, it literally had me in tears (of happiness). It was the most exciting and entertaining match I've seen in ten years, since that wonderful season of '99. Delighted.

Secondly, I had a +9.78 BI day, which is always good.

Thirdly, two of those 9.78 buyins were won off my arch nemesis donkey Virmos. Here are the hands, he played pretty poorly in both which made me even happier he he.

Fourthly, well I don't really have a fourthly. I suppose the scoop is quite exciting, I have a piece of my friend Dougie, and a player called cody1982, so it's nice to have some interest. Railing Negreanu too, in the 10k horse. Exciting.

As many as you may have guessed, the last post was an april fool. And I made many the april fool out of you all. Hopefully. Will and Dougie were caught anyway, although Douglas maintains he knew all along and was playin with me.

Haven't played much since last post, hour and a half just there. Made $60, with some bad luck and bad play. This hand is just awful, I was kinda on tilt.

I came across two interesting articles/blog posts in the last few days.

The first one here conveys a lot of views that I strongly agree with, its quite refreshing to find another person who shares my outlook on this topic. Another valid point in the argument of being rich vs. being "normal" is the old pronoun "money can't buy you happiness," a saying with which I totally agree. I grew up with a variety of people, some rich, some not so rich, and I fully believe that the better off friends of mine were no happier than the less well off. And this goes for all ages (I think).

This article outlines the five most essential aspects to becoming a successful poker player. I think I have four out of five of the qualities, the fourth quality being the one I lack. Although saying I have four out of five down kind of takes number five away from me. Ah well three aint bad.

As we speak I am playing in the supernova weekly tourney and this hand has just happened.

I though I recongnized his name so I looked up the villain on OPR here. Oh yeah, I pawned the number one on officialpokerrankings.com.

So this time it is actually my money, and it looks like I'm not getting it back. The player snooker__31 on pokerstars and mikeymx3 is a scumbag, his name is Stefan McCormick (I think). Kinda pissed off when I think about it, but something good might yet come out of it, as I have set myself a challenge. I wasn't going to play yesterday, or til the end of march as I have my VPP's, but now I am going to keep playing until on I reach one of these goals:

1. I play for 10 hours (3.38 gone)
2.I have made $450 in actual money (+$90.95)

This is my punishment for being stupid, I'm enjoying it so far, its nice to have a challenge. I have until 1st of April to do it.

Up 11 buyins in 2.63 hours, including a 700 hand session where I ran at 55BB/100 for winnings of $208. Happy out, cos I need money badly as something came up. Not too serious, just one of my friends got in a bit of bother and I need to lend him quite a bit.

I've been quite bored recently, not much going on. Next week is rag week in a nearby college, so boredom will end, and the drinking will resume :)

I've started staking one person a very small amount for $2 9 man turbo's, moving up later on. I had two people but had to get one stake back cos of the $ situation. My guy plays as best_swongs on Full Tilt.

In other news I read a cool article here. For the past few months poker has become a chore, and while the views expressed in the article don't sum up my thoughts and feelings exactly, it's pretty close. I hope one day to give up poker altogether if possible, if I have it in me. I might be addicted, I might not, but hopefully one day I have the financial backing and common sense/willpower to give it up for good.

Really really gotta stop sitting in front of this computer all day long. The amount of time I spend cooped up in my room has reached crazy highs in recent weeks, for example today. I stopped playing at around 3, said I would play a bit later. 5 hours later I am still here (albeit a small pause to run to shops and eat lunch) without playing, and am now too tired to play more. FML. Thats the way the cookie crumbles.

2+2, blogs, and other various RETARDED sites are killing me slowly to death. To DEATH!

It stops today. I am quitting 2+2. I have learned a lot from the site but one more second trawling the BBV section could do irreparable harm to my sanity. I will look in on the staking section from time to time but that's it!

Doing well at poker, BB/100 for 25nl is over 4, BR is at its highest in over half a year (3k wow such a BR nit), saving nice monies for my holiday, and of course trying to rid myself of the student loan.

Yes it's true. Don't really care though. It was the 1K I got sponsored by Golden Arch to play with and I staked some guy from 2+2 with it. Turns out he was a bit of a douche and lost it to his friend. Might get it back at some stage, as Golden Arch are looking into it. Anyways pooker has been going ok, made $200 on monday, and $20 today, in a total of 7 or 8 hours. Gotta keep the grinding up, have to get the vpp's in before March ends.

We won at soccer! 4-0. Good laff. Also playin roulette a bit recently, up 97.50 (euro's) over three sessions. Me and Will spent 4 and a half hours in there one day of the weekend. What a life, I'm such a hero.

50nl is my enemy, so the plan is to never play there ever again. Straight from 25NL to 100NL :p. Not such a bad idea actually.

Played a soccer match today, first in a year and 3 months. Came off the bench to score....a consolation goal. We lost. We were better than them, yet again. Disaster of a match, yet again. Don't really care, yet again.

Meh. Was kinda fuming earlier after losing $200 at 50nl, but then just won $100 at 25nl. It's kinda annoying because I know I can beat 50nl, but I just go on tilt sooooo quickly, and then hands like this happen. God what was I thinking? Seriously. What a fish.

I then took a break, watched my team Man United get thrashed, and the Ireland rugby underperforming (but at least winning), and then returned to the tables in my comfort zone, 25nl. Had a few nice bluff's, I bluff very rarely so here they are:

The first one kinda played itself out, got myself nice and pot committed by the turn with 9 high. I knew he had a draw though so bet small on turn, to allow myself a biggish shove on river.

In this hand I just had a gut feeling he was on a draw, I might even have been ahead on the river. That would have been a sick call if I had.

I decided to move up as the general consensus is that 16 tabling 50nl is less burnout inducing than 24 tabling 25nl. It is less boring, I have to say.

So this is it, the return to 50nl, where I was once a nitty fish. Now I am an awe inspiring, scary TAG! Well so far anyway.
I had a few suckouts too, this being the worst for a smallish pot. God knows what he was doing though.

I am feeling more and more comfortable, and and I think this is due to me playing more ABC poker. In my other recent attempts to move up I was overcompensating and suffering from FPS. Now I feel good, like I can beat this at a comfortable clip.

As the title suggests. On a bit of a breakeven stretch, only made 40 bucks in 10k hands this week. Meh. Fpp's racking up the whole time. On a positive note my bro seems to be out of his 1k Sit'n'Go downswing and is back making millions.

And now to the fun bit. Dougie and I concocted an elaborate scheme to con Ladbrokes betting offices out of all their money. The plan is as follows:

Every day of the Cheltenham festival there is a free five euro bet for customers. Now in Cork city, where I live, there just so happens to be no fewer than SEVEN Ladbrokes bookies. This accumulates to FOURTEEN bets (dougie and I) everyday! So tomorrow they are all going on this race. Note there are only twelve runners so we will put 3 bets down on the favourite, who is actually a favourite by a mile. The least amount we will win is roughly 20 euro, and thats if the favourite comes in. What if there is an upset? We'll be rolling in it I tells ya.

I'll keep you updated on who to shout for over the coming three days. For now it is Marodima, come you ledge, make me a millionaire.

It'll take around two hours a day to place all the bet's (we have to walk a bit), and we are more than likely make at most 50 or 60 euro's each from the three days. If I sat here on my ass I could make almost double that but this is a good laff. We'll be shouting for all the favourite to fall and die. Come on the underdogs, Marodima FTW!

Sadly I decided not to go home this weekend. Found out today I have a soccer (football) match tomorrow up here in my college home. On the plus side I had a good nuff day. AND got my money back for 3rd place in a home game. Oh yeah. Three handed I was close to folding top pair and an insider to my bro but sadly couldn't pull it off. I was pretty short stacked. The week was going great until this morning, lost $122. Still up $210 since Sunday but I was running very hot b4 today. I had a few bad/beats coolers this morn, and then went on a bit of tilt. Meh. I'll play later and try make some back.

Tourney wasn't exactly a disaster, but it could have gone a bit better. The first day went well, I made so much money from this one cocky fool of a took who thought he was god's gift to poker. He kept limping, attempting to see flops, and was almost always met by a raise from me in position. When he called I took down the pot, but usually it didn't even get that far. If it wasn't for him I would have busted early on day one I'd imagine, as the rest of the table weren't that bad. I had my bro and Dougie on the table so we defo all had the worst table, only a select few to take advantage of. We did our best anyway, my bro made it all the way to the bubble, but I busted dougie with a 3 outer on the river ha ha on day one.

Second day I played the same style, but there were less people to take advantage of, and I ended up shoving over a raise with 11 BB (holding QQ) to get called by a guy on my team who had K10. He wasn't pot committed or anything and the annoying thing was that he said before he called, "we're racing." ???. I was delighted when I heard this of course but then he doesn't show over the low PP I expected and he busted me. I wasn't annoyed at the time but thinking back...ah i don't care.

As I said my bro Joe made it to the final table, as did two others on my team. We had a very very good shot at the team event but the only other team that could have won it had two members go on to take 1st and 2nd place. Colluding bastards. They actually weren't, they played aggressive throughout the final table against each other, and besides that were top blokes. Wp Kev and Pa, probably the two best players in the tourney.

Roll on poker tourney! That fucker dougie has thrown me off the team though. Max is 8 per team and our posse numbers nine, and luckily enough I'm the only one in the team to not be in college, apart from Dougie himself. College tourney is the reasoning. Fuck it, I'm not too pushed. He'll regret it when I go on to crush these live doooonks. My strategy is at the beginning is to be the opposite to the norm. If its tight I'll lag it up and vice-versa.

It's true. Pain everywhere, including me bollox.

Just got my 10k vpp's in feb there, had to put in a lot of hours recently because I can't play for the rest of the month and had to get em in. But did it so happy.

I don't have the stats to hand but I think my ptBB/100 was over 5 for feb. It's probably my best month for around a year, since I had that big tourney score for 3k. Happy out, taking a lot of money out to clear the debt, (only 2.5kish, student loan) and spending on random things. Compared to how much money I had for those brutal months of october and november I'm a millionaire. $50 an hour if you include rb is way more than I have ever made at poker over a decent sample, well maybe when I was playing $100 heads ups. But this is so steady, very little varianc.

I have a live tourney saturday, I'll give an update on monday. It's a team event, with my bro, Dougie and Will on the team among others. We are all making our living off poker atm so it can't be that bad a team. Should be a laff. Until then I am off up to galway for rag week. So no internet pokers til monday.

Yeah I played roulette with both my degenerate friends dougie and will, and my luck monster luke, who's just a friend not a gambler (although that's changed now, he seems to think he can make his living off roulette)

Anyway, made 65 euro in a couple of hours, and am fucking hooked. Thanks Will and Dougie, for turning me into a big degenerate. I used to only be a small degen, playin a small bit of poker from time to time for fun, now look at me. I even had a dream about winning at roulette, no joke. Fuck. I know I'm gonna lose so much at it. My boys Will and Dougie did well at it, notching up wins of minus 80 and minus 130 respectively. gg!

On the poker front February is still goin good. ptBB/100 is over 5, over $44 an hour + rb. Very happy with my play actually, I'm gettin the hang of this HUD thing and learnin when not to c-bet.

And on the marathon front haven't ran in awhile cos I'm really stiff from a soccer (football to you english mugs) match on sat.

I'm back grinding away, back in the comfort zone, crushing crushing crushing. Not that it's in any way, shape or form an achievement to crush 25nl. The players, if you could call them poker players, like to donate money on a regular basis.

Since christmas I have been making over $40 an hour, at over 4 ptBB/100. I'm delighted with the win rate cos it's while 24 tabling, but I prolly should start working on my game and trying to move up stakes. Just couldn't be arsed, sounds like way too much hard work. $40 an hour is loads for me, for this year anyway. Maybe after college I'll try get good.

I made around $170 today, plus around 20 rb.

Other than that still training for the marathon, had a 8 miler on sunday. I no longer have feet, blisters have temporarily replaced them.

Ran like absolute shit at 50nl, and like god at 25nl. In around 600 hands at 50nl I lost another 150ish which put the roll at 1930. Fuck. I moved down and made $240. Ran like buddha. In one of the sessions I hit 5 quairs of quads in 2500 hands. Crazy, most people don't hit sets that often. Why couldn't it have been at 50nl, I'm still down for the day. I'm delighted though, to come back from 930 to 1117.50.

I suppose I should give 50nl another shot but I'm just so comfortable at 25nl.

I think I just automatically tilt when I move up stakes. I play waaay looser, bluff more and call down when I am behind a load more often. I'm a prize cunt. I didn't play at all last week due to rag week and getting fucked up every day, but I am back now and playing shite which is annoying. BR was at $1200 and I said I would move up in stakes and give myself a stop loss of four buyins, like stop if I get to 1K. At 1085 now so won't be long moving down. Fuck.

Added to this some prick stole my wallet which 70 euro's in it and a 100 euro jacket I bought only 3 days ago from I house party I was having. Fucking pricks.

And I got 800 euro confiscated off a smaller poker site I use to withdraw from, they think I'm money laundering or something. I'll get it back but have to wait a while so have no money. As I mentioned in the last post, me and my staker/coach split. I emailed him about a week and a half ago saying I was ready to start with him, and he said fine, he would coach me in a few days. I played 25nl up til this time, assuming the splitting the profits would start after the first coaching session, when I started at 50nl. Anyway a few days later we start talking on AIM and he asks how I'm doing and that he would take any money tomorrow. Small fight about me having to pay him half my 25nl profits and we split. No biggie. I'm delighted we split. I'm happy at 25nl for the moment.

This week has been disgusting. I have got v. v. lucky in so many spots. Two outering all over the shop. I almost feel bad. Over 23k hands I have been running at 7ptBB/100, $56 an hour. $852 + RB total. Hope it keeps up.

I'm a bit worried about 25nl though. Over 156k hands I have been running at 3.61 ptBB/100. I really think I'm on a 150k hand heater, I keep hitting sets against overpairs, getting aces/ kings in good preflop, and two outering people. If I go back to normal luck my hourly rate willshoot down and stuff like that. I must try moving up to 50nl, it's just that I feel very comfortable at this level. So many donks to exploit, and regs too. Virmos is an utter cunt, scuse the language. He's a reg, but such a nit. 12/3 or something like that. One day he minraises my c-bet, I fold, and he goes on to abuse me of being an idiot bad player. This got to me and I challenged him to a few $100 heads ups. He said nothing and I've been abusing him ever since. It was just that it was unprovoked, and we had been playing fine together for a few weeks before he said this. Good start to the week today. Played for three hours and made $166.65. Yesterday I made 63.50.

As we speak I'm just after doubling up in a $5, 3000 man tourney. I pushed with a7 on button and a limper calls me with k6. I flop trips and double up to 20 BB.

A guy called Max is coaching/staking me. He coaches me a few times a week, and takes half my profits at 50nl over a 50k hand sample. Also, if I'm down anything at any stage he transfers it over to me. So I can 18 table 50nl with my bankroll of $1300, because anything I lose will be replaced. It is basically being staked without actually being given money at the start. Plus coaching.

I have started using pokertracker HUD. I am not used to it, and have made some bad reads because of it, but slowly the penny is beginning to drop with me. Max should be able to help me out with it anyway.

I've made $173.10 + rb since the bad day on saturday, at 3.69 BB/100, so getting over the bad patch.

It's amazing the swings in my BB/100 at 25nl. After 123,000 hands I went from 3.3ish a week ago, to 2.5 on saturday, to 2.92 now. I have a report on pokertracker that tells me my highest and lowest BB/100 to a 95% accuracy. A week ago it was between 3.01 and 3.56.

I want to move up to 50nl, where I believe I can make $32-38 plus $15-20(fpp's) an hour. If my estimations are accurate the least I'll be making is $47 an hour, while the high end would put me at $58 an hour.

I play around 20 hours a week, and am currently grinding out ~$600 dollars a week to live off. I'm in a gap year between high school and college and have plenty of free time to be coached (hopefully by you), and work at my game. The only problem is I can't risk moving up in stakes, as I use my winnings to pay for rent, bills etc.

If you look finnianp up in sharkscope and OPR (full tracking) you will see that I am an accomplished poker player in SNG's and MTT's as well. I am up over $20,000 overall from poker, I have just withdrawn a lot of it recklessly over the past year.
The difference between me and others possible stakee's is that I'm bright, highly dedicated, and am constantly working to improve my game. I have found a steady source of income at 25nl, but want to increase my hourly rate. In my opinion, this is a VERY low risk oppurtunity.If you should choose to stake me you could stand to earn a lot of money, in the region of $500 a week or more.

Played for a few hours and down $170ish. Almost doubled my worst day at 25nl. I'm not too down about it, up $326 since monday plus rb so plenty to survive on for a week. Only played 13 hours though, next week I'm going to play a lot. Hopefully over 20 hours.

The bankroll is steadily growing. Since I started 24 tabling my BB/100 has been at 3.6, making just under thirty dollars an hour, plus $9 rakeback. I never thought I'd be earning $39 dollars an hour at 19. Happy out. This is over a 70k hand sample, so I'm pretty sure i'll be able to maintain in or around $30 total. The only problem is putting in the hours. It's so boring playing at home, the most I can play is 2 hours straight. I have two likewise degenerate bum friends that I go to the local net cafe with for 4 hour sessions, which help in getting in the hours. The only problem is that one of them is in college and can't play often. Grow a pair, get a life and dropout Will! Me and dougie are living the dream. It's only your final year, you fucking pussy.

I'm trying to live off what I make in actual cash, and saving the FPP's (around $9 an hour) for australia in the summer. My very good mate Matty just moved back there for good, so hopefully I get in enough hours to go see him. I have 75k fpp's now and make 635 an hour. Roughly 23 weeks til i go and I want 3 bonuses of 1.5k to spend so thats around 16 hours a week. I'll have to clear them all but should be alright. Livin off the cash, thats the problem.

Marathon training is going ok but it's fucking hard. Don't ever do one. The most I have ran/run? is 3 miles, and was knackered after. I have 4 and a bit months to train, not looking forward to it at all. 26.2 miles. Fuck. Why put yourself through that you ask? No idea.

After 95933 hands my BB/100 at 25nl is at 2.99. So close. I've made some changes to my game in the last few weeks and have made 305.95 in 6.53 hours since my last post. The changes seem to be paying off.

As you can see I had a very swangy day. Was down over 5 BI's at one stage, and then when I had literally ten minutes left on my internet cafe time I had a huge upswung. A few sick/funny hands from today and yesterday:

The first hand I was half laughing at afterwards.

In the second hand the only reason I got it all in pre with ak was because the villain had just joined the table, and in the first hand re-raised me huge from late position($1.25 up to $7). I had him down as a fish after that and then the hand after I decided to stand up to this new bully. That worked out well.

I love the third hand (jj vs. QTsoooooooted). Justice was served on that river. On all streets he made the wrong move in my opinion, preflop its a fold, on flop its a raise, on turn maybe ok, on river just call. At least he played the turn ok though, 1 street out of 4 is a good player at 25nl.

Basically, Dwan has challenged anyone in the world — with the sole exception being his good friend and professional poker player Phil Galfond — to play 50,000 hands with him heads up, in either no-limit Texas hold'em or pot-limit Omaha at $200-$400 stakes at a minimum of four online tables.

"I don't get enough people to play me heads up. Even though there is more money to be made in other games, rather than playing heads up at one or two tables, it's so interesting and you learn a lot," said Dwan. "I think I might have an edge here, but it's more to have fun and gamble a bit. That's why I'm making this challenge."

Made $64.50 +RB in just less than 6 hours today. A bit to much of a swingy day for my liking, but can't complain. I'm surprised at how little variance I've encountered at 25nl, even 24 tabling.
The most amount of BI's I've dropped in a session is just under 4. uFR is the steadiest type of poker I've ever played. This is a graph of all my profit for 25nl hands:

I played in the 20k and 50k freerolls on sat, managed to get 24BB in wit T5 off vs. AA. Oh yeah. And in the other made a bluff so bad I didn't even have an out. Thats me shitting on the players today.

Made $222.47 in less than two hours for my best daily profit since the start of November. Hit so many sets, outdrew a few people and stuff like that. Made 15.91BB/100 over 2795 hands which I'm delighted with. My sample size is getting big enough now for me to fairly accurately estimate my hourly rate. Played for bit over three hours today and lost $80.75. Made $112 in the opening session, then took a break and played for an hour and lost a nasty 9.4 per cent of my roll. Great. Lotta sick stuff. not what I needed. Confidence shattered, might move down to 25nl again. ugh.

I've been using pokertracker HUD over the past few days and it's really helping me progress. When your 24 tabling it's nigh on impossible to get any reads, so the stats of voluntary put money in pot, and preflop raise are invaluable. These let me know if I can push them off say JJ or QQ on turn if I reraised pre with air, if they are a 12/7 I go for it. Or say I have AA on the river with a board of kjT57, if I see a 58/10 I go for a value bet.

I played for two hours yesterday at 25nl and made $3.1, whoop whoop. I played for an hour today at 50nl and won 53.65.

I'm still nervous playing there but when I was drunk I decided that I had to go for it so thats what I'm doing. I got a loan of 600 off my brother so my BR is at $1935, and I'm pretty sure thats enough. Plus I bought a 650 bonus today so in a few days I should have a BR of around 2700. Minus 600 that I have to take out soon. Hi will u fucking stalker.

Lost $153 today. Had loads of hands where I was thin valuebetting the worst hand, like overpairs, and a few two outer's after turn. Meh. Had to happen and don't feel too bad about it, even though it is over six buyins. I'm up since I came back from holiday if you include rakeback so can't complain.

BB/100 will have come down alot though, probably to below 2/100, I can't check right now, but will give an update whenI find out. I dont really mind though, as since I moved to 24 tabling I'm getting in 1600 hands an hour, plus $8 or $9 rakeback. So even at 1.5bb/100 I make $20 an hour.

I played for around 5 hours today so my new years resolution is going well.

Had a savage holiday, and am back now and off to a good start. The holiday consisted of drinking for a good few days straight, so it's nice to have a hangover break. Miss drinkin though.

Made $105 today, plus around $30 rakeback. Played half of the time at 50nl, but was playing a little scared. It's very tough living off poker and attempting to move up in stakes. The pots become twice as big and you start to think about what that money could buy you. So I think I'm going to stick at 25nl.

I'm going to learn how to 24+ table, tried it today to good effect. Belok has a good post about stacking tables that you can read here.

I've been finding it hard to put in the hours recently, as cash games are fairly monotonous. Since October I've averaged only 12.7 hours a week, which is pathetic. I am a pity. I did have a week and a half off but still. New years resolution, play at least 15 hours a week. I'll have to anyway come February, to keep supernova.

25nl is still going very well for me, with 2.87 bb/100, and $19 an hour, plus rakeback.

Cant be arsed setting myself goals for the new year, other than make enough to live off til September. I would like to get my student loan payed off too, but thats 3k euro's, which is a bollox.

On a different note, I got sponsored to play on Golden Arch Poker which is pretty cool. They gave me 1k to play on their site, but they take half the profits for some wsop thing. You can read about it here.

Haven't played since I made supernova, and in getting that I made about $200. I'm going away for Christmas so wont play til the new year.

I've been thinking about moving up to 50nl but am not sure about my br. I have $1230, which isn't enough, but I have the option of using 50k fpp's to get a 650 bonus. In doing this I would lose $100 because I get less $ for each fpp, but getting 650 now would enable me to move up, make way more rakeback an hour, and hopefully make more from the tables. I can't see much wrong with this idea after writing this so that's what I'm gonna do.
I only have 43k fpp's so it'll take me 13 hours to get to 50k and 30 more hours to clear it. After 43 hours of play and the bonus I br should be around 2300-2400 which is plenty to move up.
More than likely (definitely) it's not gonna run that smooth.

25nl is still going well for me. My bb/100 is 3.07, and $/hour is 20.07. I've had 14 winning sessions out of 19, but I'm pretty sure this wont last. As long as I can grind at around 2bb/100 I'm happy. Sample size is getting bigger too, I've played 32516 hands at 25nl now.

I said I'd talk about strategy in this post but instead I'll just link to a very interesting thread about stealing. Dan makes a lot of sense, the bottom line being steal more.

I played for almost two hours and made $23.55.
The good thing about today is that I made more from non-showdown hands than I did with showdown hands. I've been trying to improve at this because since I started with PT I'm down over $7800 from non-showdown, and up $8200 from showdown hands.
This change has basically come from raising rather than limping with the majority of pp's, and stealing more. It's going well for me at the moment.

Played for almost 3 hours and lost $96 today. The heater had to stop I suppose. Didn't get that unlucky except for one hand (below). People were playing back at me a lot more today, and I wasn't hitting flops or sets, and a bit of tilt. Gotta stop tilt.
I was a lot more aggressive today too, 15/12, might cut that down a bit next time.

Moral of the story I raise he calls out of position. He bets into me on flop, he doesn't have a huge stack so I put him all in and he calls. I have nut flush draw, he has T high flush draw and hits a pair. Annoying.

Made $84.2 in 3 hours today. Was up 120 with ten mins left but had a few bad hands and lost a bit. It reminded me how quickly you can lose a couple of buyin's, I have to keep concentrating. But I am happy with today and in general, making more than enough to survive on at the moment.

Since dropping down to 25nl:

VP$IP/PFR = 12.59/8.49.
$21.6 an hour at 3.37BB/100.

Hope it stays like that but it's doubtful, its only over a 16k hand sample size and I'm hitting sets/flops a lot. Although I just checked and I'm hitting sets 12.2% of the time, which is about right. Maybe I'm getting paid off more than I should. It'd be good to have 500k hands or so under my belt, then I'd have a good estimate of what my long term results will be. Hopefully $10-$14 an hour with $7 rakeback.

1st Update

Played three and a half hours of 25nl today. Up 29.80. Quite happy though because I had a lot of biggish pots lost from turn to river when it was all in and I was ahead.

Since moving down to 25nl I have made $167.70 at $17.68 per hour. Plus around $5 an hour rakeback, which will go up to $7.50 an hour in 2000 vpp's time :)

BB/100 is at 2.78, I'd be happy with sustaining 2.5-2BB/100 while 18 tabling, which would give me around $15 an hour, plus $7.5 rakeback.

Other than that I'm studying my pokertracker stats a lot and revising my game plan. In the past week I've changed from raising 42% of total hands I play to 60%, and loving it. It means when I run card dead I can still profit unlike before. Running at 12.58/7.59, which is still relatively conservative but am working on it. Still can't bring myself to raise with Ajs 1st position which i probably should be doing.

Hello!

Initially I created this to post my poker tracker stats and get advice from another small stakes grinder like me. But as it's created might as well let you all know a little about me and give updates on how it's going.

BACKGROUND:
I started playing online about two years ago, deposited on a small European site called Irish Eyes Poker. It took me a year to lose about 170 euro's, which is quite a lot to a 17 year old. I think I read super systems around this time, but not sure, and told myself to knuckle down, use good BR management, and concentrate.
I deposited another 50 and said to myself this is my last chance. Over the next year I switched to Pokerstars, got a lot of luck, and am now showing profit of over $17000. This I managed because of a few things:
1. Lucky tournament cashes -
first real break came in winning a 180 man $22 entry for $1080
Continued at these tourneys for a while and got a 2nd and a 3rd too for a combined $1148
Won a $11 tourney with over 1000 players for $2858

2. All this success went to my head and I turned to $100 heads up sit'n'gos. I went on a lucky streak and I think I won something in the region of $4000. A lot of this was luck. I don't think I'm a bad heads up player, I know it. The poker gods graced me for this time and I'm very thankful. I got out due to a bad run and turned to

3. 100nl full ring. Again got a lucky streak and made something in the region of $3000. Stopped that because of a bad run and moved to

4. Micro Sit'n'gos, $11-$22 on Full Tilt and Pokerstars. Made around $3000, but was making very little per hour so stopped and moved back to 100nl.

( this are rough estimates, I know for definite though that I am up between 16500 and 17500 overall)

Which brings me to October 08, start of college for me, and finally it happened, my good luck ran out. It had to happen sometime and it wasn't pretty. It came at a very bad time, just after going on holiday with a few friends, and starting college, meaning lots of stupid cashouts. My bankroll is now at just over $1200. This all makes me sound like a complete degen bum, but i'm up over $16500 since Sept 07 so I can't be unhappy.

Anyway this poor run came from a combination of bad luck, playing above my head (100nl), and tilt. I have since dropped down to 50nl, and then again to 25nl. I have definitely become a worse poker player in the past few months, I keep finding myself paying people off when I know that once upon a time I would have folded. And I also stupidly bluff a lot. So at the moment I am relearning a lot of the principles I once knew well, all while trying to make enough to keep me going through college. Good luck to me.

BR is at $1243 and I'm going for supernova before Jan. I am currently 18 tabling 25nl, and I make around 134 vpp's an hour, 3210 left to make supernova. meh.
